4/5 ⭐ 2/5 🌶️ *Skin Of A Sinner* is the second dark romance I’ve read, and it cemented my love for the genre. I didn’t get round to writing a review after my first read, so here it is after my second re-read. I still love this book. Roman Riviera is over the top, and we wouldn’t have him any other way. In the first part of the book, Bella irritates me immensely because she can’t do anything for herself. It’s also Roman’s fault, as he doesn’t even let her breathe. Thank goodness the forced separation works in her favour. In the second part, she becomes more independent and self-assured (not as much as we’d like, but it’s an improvement). Roman is sometimes too childish and naive, especially when it comes to Bella’s safety. You’re not all-powerful, however much you might think you are. But he ends up surprising us (or not) because he becomes a better person for Bella’s sake. At times, the story is quite cheesy and Roman is too perfect, but there’s already enough crap in the world to want a dose of reality in my books.
