The book All the president´s men (1974) and the movie (1976) based on the book by the same name narrates how the disclosures by two Washington Post reporters helped in the downfall of the President of the United States, Richard M. Nixon. This true story is as pertinent today as it was more than 20 years ago. It opens in with a documentary from June first, 1982, as Nixon returns in triumph from a successful international trip. The action moves to sixteen days later, with a recreation of the infamous break-in in the Democratic Headquarters of the Watergate building. Its detection by the police marks the beginning, of the cascading events that culminated with the resignation of the President. And the role of the press in trying to expose those abuses is still a fundamental link in the chain sustaining a democratic society. Included are a revision of the events of the Watergate with a transcription of the famous 1976 movie script .
